Why I wrote this book
I had just come back from a global event in Las Vegas. My boss and I sat down in a café. “It looks like your role may be made redundant.”
For years, I had managed change for other people. Now it was happening to me. My two children were still very much on the payroll. One at an international school. One studying in the UK.
With time and distance came clarity. I was grateful for what I had already done. I had built a property portfolio that delivered consistent passive income. I had invested in Board, AI and coaching certifications.
But I also saw what I wished I'd done earlier. Learned more about the stock market and entrepreneurship. Built income beyond property while still employed. Taken the stage more often. Thought like a portfolio manager of my career, rather than simply a participant in it.
So I started talking to executives, board directors, investors, psychologists and people who had reinvented themselves, often more than once. The people who thrived weren't simply fortunate. They prepared deliberately for uncertainty. They built options.
This book is the result of those conversations. It's written for everyone standing at a crossroads, and for those who quietly sense there may be more.
